GED Online Policies

The following is a list of policies and procedures for GED Online students. Please be sure to read these carefully before enrolling in class.

Enrollment:
  • You must be a Missouri resident and at least 16 years old.
  • You must officially be dropped from school.
  • Your social security number is required for enrollment, but will not be shared with anyone outside of GED Online or DESE.
Using the class:
  • You will be required to go to an onsite classroom to complete the TABE tests and online orientation before you are given a username and password for the GED Online classroom.
  • Once you receive your username and password, we suggest you check in at least twice a week.
  • It is necessary for you, as the student, to keep in contact with your instructor.
  • To determine your progress through GED Online, you will be required to go back to an onsite classroom to post-test before you can move on to the next quarter or level of assignments every 90 days.
Exiting the class:
  • If you are going to be absent from class for an extended period of time but do not wish to be dropped, please contact your instructor.
  • If at the end of the quarter you have not post-tested, you may not move to the next quarter until a post-test is complete.
  • If your post-test is not complete within 1 quarter, you will be removed from the classroom.
  • You can be removed from the class at any time at your request.
